Base.Gov is a pathfinder partnership made up of Knowsley, Leeds, Lewisham and West Sussex Councils. Each is a Beacon Authority and between us we represent the family of Local Authorities.
In partnership with IBM we will be working to deliver a combination of practical advice, support and technical toolsets to assist the wider Local Government Community and implement customer focused service.
We will be developing and piloting solutions to encourage customer choice in:
Access locations e.g. Home, Office, Library, Contact Centre, One Stop Shops.
Access technologies e.g. Telephone, World Wide Web, Digital TV, Video Conferencing, Information Kiosk.
Access time e.g. 24 hour service (where it is considered economically viable).
Ideally, a customer should only need to make a request once. Our developed toolsets based on 'Life Events' will pilot the processing of a customer request to simultaneously notify multiple service delivery personnel and systems.
The toolsets will not be supplier or technology dependant and will have no attaching intellecutal property right. They will be made freely available (e.g. template electronic forms) or otherwise be obtainable from a number of recommended solution providers.
